Sure, can say a few lines and fall down a lot. However, I tried actually "acting" in it, and it wasn't successful. We did two shots and then I gave up. I wasn't happy.

I'm much happier behind the camera anyway.

i'm currently working on a few short film scripts and gearing up for production on a documentary with college.

It's not so much that I wasn't able to act in front of an audience, more the fact that I don't have any talent as an actor. Enough, perhaps, to carry off a small role (Like in Running Like Mad) but in this flick I was the lead. I was in practically every shot. And I wanted to operate the camera anyway.

As it was, my girlfriend was operating, doing a surprisingly good job, and we were the only two in the room. I don't feel as bad about reshooting since I didn't call in the entire cast and crew and then abandon after 2 shots. I caught it in the nick of time.

That said, I'd probably act in someone elses project that I had nothing to do with, production wise.

after doing it a few times myself i wouldnt act in my own film ever again... its not that i cant act (tho thats a factor!) its more the fact i cant be in two places at once and i find it too much hard work to be jumping behind the camera and back again. Id rather not spread myself too thinly and end up with bad direction and bad acting. One or the other will do for me [img]smile.gif[/img]

This might be a situation where you need to reach outside of your own circle of friends to advance your project.

You might find it easier to act if you remove everyone from the room who knows you. Assuming someone is still remaining, have them direct you. You'll do even better if they can actually direct.

i act in my own films a lot, but i have a great mate who also wants to be a director and understands what i am after, so when i am in front of the camera he takes charge.
